I could have misunderstood the question but:
If you have "check valid sender" on Imail server selected and if a client in domainx sends to another client in domainx but then either misspells or the addy does not exist on domainx, Imail checks at the smtp level and will send nothing until the addy is correct.

I just tried to reproduce this problem by using Outlook2000 to send a message to:
ron@hksi.net;nowaythisisright@blahblah.com;cio@mindspring.com
I received the message sent to the first and the last email addresses (known-good addresses), and a few minutes later I received the bounce notification from the blahblah.com mailserver, as expected.
How are you testing/reproducing this error?
