In the "Window" Menu is an option called "Progress" or Command-3

This brings up a progress window. Then have it send the mail as it's sending the progress window's default is to have the details closed but it still says what it's doing, i.e. Lookup host, send password, etc. You can watch it there, but if it's a fast LAN then it could go so quickly that you can miss it, may need to send several e-mails.
