Subject: multiple MC to follow path?

I am making a roller coaster. I cannot figure out how to make additional coaster cars follow the path of the lead car, if I set a delay on them they follow a lower path than the lead. Any hints on this? I have one way to do it buy making multiple MC's and setting them up along a time line. I am looking for a more elegant AS way to this. Please clue me in...
