Scaling an MC works from the center point of that MC (the little cross in the middle), so if you place your object (the bar) in the MC at 0,0 - top left corner alligned with the cross) it will scale just fine. Oh, just realised you want it scaled from the bottom, then just align the bottom of the object with the center cross of the MC.
