Yes, it is a good, reliable and very fast browser. I have Opera 5 installed with Java Runtime and an enormous amount of plugins, including Shockwave 8 and Flash 5. So far, I encountered no problems with Flash sites, only when the designers have a very bad JS detection script running...
Opera is also very good at showing your errors in code. The browser is very close to the W3C standards and every web developer *should* validate his/her work in Opera. Most would surely be surprised... ;)
