I believe they discovered this bug a few months back here on the list. The only true way to see the same colors is to set your video card to 32-bit color. Otherwise, you need to mess around with websafe colors, and I think after a ton of tests they found 22 colors that wont change no matter what. I am sure someone on the list has the link to the article. I think they said in the article that 16-bit color is more unpredictable than 8-bit color when it comes to dithering on different browsers and Mac or PC. If your very concerned about the color matching up, you can use one of the 22 safe colors as both the HTML background color and Flash movie background color to be sure that you wont see the boundaries of the Flash movie.

I'm using the same color for the background property of my movie as I am in the body tag of my HTML page but they aren't rendering the same. The background color of the Flash movie is slightly lighter. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance!!

p.s. The color I am using is #3864A0. The movie is set at 800x600 so you will only notice it if your screen resolution is set to 1024x768 or higher.
