Subject: articles about serious flash programming projects, with XML??

hiya!

here at my little job, we make a monster C/S financial software in many modules that runs on Solaris and NT. it lets banks like Deutsche, Barclays, etc. manage their derivatives, treasury operations, stuff like that.

currently they are discussing building a web-enabled version that would use servlets, oracle, XML. i think Flash/Generator would be awesome for this puppy. the problem is that the developers here think of Flash only as eye-candy. they say it's a closed, nonstandard system, and it would be better to use java applets!

so i've sent them info about flash being an open standard, etc. all the usual benefits. but they say "you just can't make real software with flash." they're not impressed with phil torrone's little bank for usabancshares. they wanna see articles from places DDJ, etc. not stuff from macromedia.

can anyone help me out with this kinda thing? or is this the province only of guys like branden hall, fred sharples, phil himself? randy kato, do you have any good URLs for me on this?

tia,

fortune'
