Subject: Bug or Feature?

Hi.

I have found that if I put a frame script and then add a clipevent script to the movie IN that frame, the flash breaks. In other words the artwork disappears when its tested.

Whats odder is that the artwork STAYS dissappeared. If I then go back and remove the clipevent scripts, the fla has somehow been corrupted. THe original behavior (dictated by the frame scripts) never is restored.

Also I am getting corruption of a "with" handler in the Script panel and movie explorer. After the clip event script is removed, the "with" handler displays as an error. Nothing fixes it.

The identical movie with the identical frame handler (including the "with") works fine if the clipevent handler is never added.

I have observed this more than once. I believe I am pretty informed about Flash and the way it behaves, and I have never found any description of anything similar.

I am pretty certain I can reproduce this problem.

Anyone have an idea whats going on?

thanks

Catherine
