Finally a question I can answer. Yes you can use JumpOutReturn to go to a word document and then back to the authorware lesson. I believe you could use the following:
JumpOutReturn("Winword", filelocation^"foo.a5p") (filelocation is system variable so you not have to find the drive letter of the cd).
You can find the exact syntax in the help file.
