I hate to disagree but that information IS in the documentation...but you may need to 'marry' information located in two different locations. You need to check out how to set up a dynamic text field AND you need to learn how to work with variables in Flash.
When I had to figure out how to do what you're doing I got all the information I needed from the help files.
