And being sure not to mislead Jason, you can do this with plain old ordinary Fusebox, too. App_globals and app_locals exist so circuit apps can inherit properties of the top level app.

XFB helps you reuse those modules you create, but depending on how you actually reuse your current fusebox circuits, it might not be that huge of a time saver. For example, if you store an app_globals in your circuit's directory, and modify your app_locals to call a different app_globals, it never gets used, but is there in case the circuit needs to be run as a separate entity.

The big difference with XFB (at least my perception) is that Hal has put together some brilliant wizardry to help making module reuse a lot more plug and play. It's pretty slick.

XFB is cool, and you should for sure check it out, but you can of course easily reuse your fusebox circuit applications, regardless of which Fusebox methodology you use/have used. That's why I adopted it a few years back.
