Subject: disabling RDS

I have disabled the RDS service on our NT server but get the following error in the executive log:
"Error","TID=104","05/09/01","00:41:34","Unexpected Windows NT error number 1058 occurred while attempting to start the RDS service."
Is it possible to completely disable the RDS service?
