You can also add CFPARAMS for the property in the edit & display handlers, if there's an easy default or if the field doesn't need to be populated in all cases. I had a property that only 5 or so faculty needed, so I can add an actual value to it for just those folks & not need to go through the other 495 or so facultymember objects, by hand or by custom tag.
