To clear things up, Partition magic does not by default destroy data on a disk. for instance, let's say you have a 20GB hard drive which has only one partition, which is formatted FAT and has 3GB used. If you want to change this to 1 FAT partition of say 4GB, and then 2 NTFS partitions of 8GB, Partition magic will do this for you, and you will lose no data. On the other hand if you decided you wanted to have one FAT partition of 2GB, and 2 9GB NTFS partitions, you would most likely lose all of your data. The only way to get around this in this scenario, would be to try and back up 1+GB of data, and then delete this data, so that you have less than 2GB of data on you hard drive. Now change the partition structure with Partition magic, and then restore the data to one of the NTFS drives.

TN.

Of course Partition Magic destroys the contents when formatting...that's what formating is, unless I am misunderstanding some angle. The whole point of using partition magic, or lilo (if your k00l <g>) is not destroying data when changing file systems... The easiest way to have multiple partitions on a single drive with as many different files systems as you want is Partition Magic. It works in DOS, Windows 95,98,2000 and even, god help you OS/2... As noted earlier, Convert is not reversible. Partition Magic is.
