Subject: Studio 4.5.2 and NT4.0 with IE4.0

Don't know if anyone else has this problem but there is a documented bug in Studio 4.5 which causes a crash upon selecting a new page and in other areas (mine always crashes upon selecting a new page). The access violation is in comstrl32.dll. Allaire has a knowledge base article on this and says that to fix the problem you need to install IE5.0 or higher to get a new version of comctrl32.dll. I have tried installing this browser but there are all sorts of problems. First it doesn't work, I repair IE5.0, then it works then, in the end, the browser doesn't load anymore. Sure, Studio works fine now but the browser no longer loads.

I had to uninstall the IE5 and revert back to IE4.0 and a crashing Studio 4.5.2

Does anyone know of an easier way to get this fix applied?

John
